The communication gap

Clients should not have to chase the workshop for progress

“Which details are approved, what is in production, and what do you need from me?”

Bespoke millwork connects site surveys, shop drawings, veneer sequencing, solid timber, hardware, finishes, other trades, and exact installation tolerances. When decisions and evidence are scattered across inboxes and chat threads, exceptional craftsmanship can still feel uncertain.

Repeated “any update?” calls interrupt project leads and pull skilled makers away from the bench and installation site.

Scattered photos lose their context as design development, fabrication, finishing, and site installation overlap.

Late selections create expensive rework when grain direction, hardware, finishes, adjacent trades, and site dimensions depend on one another.

Private by default

Project visibility without exposing internal operations

A bespoke interior project can include private addresses, floor plans, budgets, finish schedules, security details, and personal spaces. CustomWorks lets your team control the client-facing layer separately from internal workflows.

Private link + PIN

Each project has controlled client access. PINs are kept separate from URLs.

Choose what clients see

Internal posts can remain internal; only approved updates appear in the client feed.

Protected media delivery

Workshop photos and videos are served through controlled application routes rather than public storage paths.

Questions

Custom furniture and millwork client portal FAQ

Is CustomWorks a full furniture or millwork production management system?

No. CustomWorks is the client update layer. Your company can keep using its existing CAD, estimating, procurement, scheduling, invoicing, and workshop systems while publishing selected progress updates in a simple client-facing feed.

Does the client need to install an app?

No. Clients open their private project feed in a standard web browser using a link and PIN. The experience works on phones, tablets, and desktop computers.

Can we keep some project posts internal?

Yes. Each post can be excluded from the client feed, so the company team can retain internal updates without exposing them to the client.

What types of updates can we share?

You can share short notes, photos, videos, audio, survey findings, drawing snapshots, veneer and finish samples, dry fits, approvals, installation moments, and milestones in one chronological feed.

Can the client receive email updates?

Yes. Once the client email is confirmed, new client-facing posts can trigger email notifications that bring the client back to the project feed.

Can we try it on one live project?

Yes. The free plan is designed for one project and one client feed, so you can test the workflow on a real furniture or millwork commission before expanding it across your studio.
